Swansea v Man Utd - 10 Key Pre-Match Stats

Pre match stats from Declan Terry

  • Swansea won their first ever league match at Old Trafford on the opening day of this season in what was Louis van Gaal's first competitive match in charge of the Red Devils.
  • That defeat on August 16 was the first time Manchester United had lost at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season since 1972.
  • This is only their 25th meeting in all competitions. United have won 11 times, Swansea eight and there have been five draws.
  • Manchester United have conceded a league high 46% of their goals from set pieces. However, no team has scored fewer goals from set pieces than Swansea's four and no team has netted a lower proportion of their goals via this route (14%).
  • Swansea have won only one of their last seven league matches (D3, L3).
  • Despite that run, they have not dropped out of the top 10 in the league all season.
  • The Swans have scored just nine goals in their last 11 Premier League games and not more than once in a game during that run.
  • The Red Devils have lost only one of their last 19 games in all competitions, winning 13 and drawing five.
  • Against Preston in the FA Cup on Monday, Wayne Rooney scored his first goal in 10 matches and in 952 minutes in all competitions. However, in the league he has still not had a shot on target in 2015.
  • Robin van Persie has scored three goals in three league appearances at the Liberty Stadium.
