Kings of Leon at the Liberty? There's already a king Leon!

American band who used to be good to play Liberty Stadium; should Leon Britton get a cameo role?

This morning it was announced that this summer the Kings of Leon will be playing the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday July 2nd. In my eyes though, Swansea already have a King Leon, and he's been as steady in his progression as KOL have been in their demise into wishy washy pop rock.

I'm sure this is me being a cynical muso, and that lots of people like them, but a lá Stereophonics they did two rocking albums, before completely changing their image and sound - a tactic which has obviously been successful as both bands have sold bloody loads of records in recent years. That doesn't mean I think they're as good as they were "back in the day though", and I do get a distinct whiff of the old "sell out and make money" from both groups.

If you fancy it, information is available here on the Swansea website: http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/kings-of-leon-liberty-1539553.aspx and tickets range from £47.50 (limited availability!) to £60 if you want to watch it sitting down.
