Man City reported to be at "an advanced stage of talks" to purchase the 2014 PL top scorer
If true, this is sad news. Last year on January 5th Wilfried Bony scored the winner at Old Trafford in an epic 2-1 FA Cup win. I was watching in Thailand on holiday, where due to time difference it was actually January 6th - my birthday. This made me very happy, understandably, when Bony nodded home at the death to claim victory.
This year though, it's not so good in terms of birthday news. Out of nowhere Skysports started reporting that Man City are now at an "advanced stage" of talks to sign the Ivorian (link), with the figure mentioned £30million. That's an amount of money the Swans wouldn't be able to turn down, but I've always said we should push for £35million. Background in sales, and all that...
Whether this latest intensification of rumours is true or not remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure. Man City just ruined my birthday. Cheers guys.
