Cyril The Swan to be replaced!

Fans' favourite seemingly on his way out...

Cyril showing Millwall who's boss

Big rumours are circulating that our beloved Cyril the Swan is to be replaced. Once a staple of any Swansea City fixture (as let's be honest, for a while the football wasn't up to much) it seems he's now deemed surplus to requirements.

The rumours centre around Cyril's rowdy past. He famously tore the head off Millwall's Zampa the Lion and kicked it into the North Bank (most excellent in my opinion), and was once voted Britain's favourite mascot by readers of BBC's MOTD magazine, however with all the glitz and glamour associated with the Premiership it appears his image is now deemed as somewhat unsuitable for the Swans.

It would be a sad day if Cyril was to make way, though it's fair to say he wouldn't be the first victim of football's move away from more localised antics towards a media-friendly squeaky clean product.

Rumours he's to be replaced by Dai the Dragon are as yet unconfirmed.
