Poll results - How many goals will Bony score?

Swansea faithful confident Ivorian hitman will fit the bill

A week ago I asked you all how many goals you thought our new record signing would amass in his first Premier League season. While the results (below) have obviously fallen foul of some Cardiff fans (note the 0's - that is, unless there some serious pessimists among us!), it gives a good indication as to how many goals people are hoping for from the £12million man, but more importantly it shows fans' expectations. Anything less than double figures won't be regarded as satisfactory for a man who scored more than a goal a game last season.

What can we draw from this exercise? Well, aside from a pretty graph (I do like a graph) the only real conclusion we can draw from this is that fans are confident he'll bag himself a fair share of goals this year. Early signs have been positive - despite not finding the net against either Den Haag or Reading his link play was excellent, in particular against Reading where his control and vision were instrumental in the Swans' third and fourth goals. With Malmo edging closer, he'll be eyeing this fixture as one in which he can get off the mark. Over two thirds of the votes cast think Bony will score 15 goals or more. Let's hope we're right...

Michu is also pleased to have a team-mate who the fans will be looking to in hope of goals, as at times last season he seemed the only player capable of finding the back of the net:

"Wilfried [Bony] has given us something different. He is so strong and can hold the ball up very well.
“He is a goalscorer, but he has so much more to his game than goals. He links well with players, he can drop into the attacking midfielder role too when needed, and he’s good in the air." Michu

It seems that the squad as well as the Jack Army are looking forward to seeing a relationship develop between our two attackers. With both players over 6 foot tall, they'll be a handful for any defence and I can't wait to see them in action together - hopefully starting with the Malmo game on Thursday. That should be as near to a "First XI" as we've seen as of yet, and should give a good indication as to what Laudrup thinks is his strongest team - at least until the season starts proper and form comes into the equation.
