Swansea v Newcastle - Expert Team News

Resident fitness guru (and Newcastle fan, as it happens) Ben Dinnery gives us an update on who's liable to miss out this weekend

Swansea

Jazz Richards could make his first Premier League appearance in almost three years as Angel Rangel misses out through suspension & Dwight Tiendalli [groin] is lacking match-fitness following his recent return to light training after a month out. Wilfried Bony is in line to replace Bafetimbi Gomis after the goalless draw at Stadium of Light. Jordi Amat [knee] & Rory Donnelly [ankle] remain around a month away while Leon Britton [bruised patella] recovery is taking longer than originally expected meaning the midfielder could make a return by mid-November.

Newcastle

No fresh injury concerns for Newcastle who are still looking for their first win of the season. Mehdi Abeid is available following his one game domestic ban & Papiss Demba Cisse [stress fracture] will be assessed after his recent return from a long-term injury. Ryan Taylor played for the Under-21s midweek after more than two years on the sidelines although a place in the match-day squad is still some time away. Davide Santon [knee], Rolando Aarons [hamstring], Siem de Jong [groin] & Curtis Good [hip] are all long-term absentees.
