Jonathan De Guzman suffers concussion whilst on international duty

Dutch midfielder set to be ruled out for Manchester United game

A bit of sad news late tonight. It seems that the Swans will almost definitely be without Jonathan De Guzman's services for the league opener at home to Manchester United after he suffered a clash of heads with Fenerbache's Dirk Kuyt in training ahead of Holland's friendly with Portugal.

Pictures from the Daily Mail appear to show blood trickling from the Dutchman's head following the clash, but while it does seem there was a serious coming together the photos also show him in a more relaxed state whilst being wheeled into an ambulance, and reports suggest that the prognosis is a case of concussion which could see him miss around two weeks of football.

Fingers crossed he can make a speedy recovery, and with a potentially hectic fixture list shaping up hopefully he won't miss too much football. All the best Jon.
